Foris Vineyards Wines

Meticulously crafted and amazingly affordable, Foris Vineyards has been crafting phenomenal wines from the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon for over thirty years. The wine buying team at Parker Payless Liquors is excited to bring these wines to you at incredible prices.

2016 Foris Pinot Gris
Rogue Valley, Oregon
Aromas of wildflowers, clover honey, Bartlett pear and Honey Crisp apple lead into flavors of nectarine, lemon curd, Granny Smith apple and Kiwi fruit creating a mouthwatering tension of luscious fruit and racy acidity.

2016 Foris Pinot Blanc
Rogue Valley, Oregon
Subtle aromas of ripe fig, lemon grass, wet river stones and a hint of sandalwood mingle with scents of a fresh marine breeze and sourdough bread crust. Flavors of quince preserves and pineapple-rhubarb tart are medium weight on entry, tilting towards a crisp and clean finish.

2016 Foris Dry Gewurztraminer
Rogue Valley, Oregon
Delicate aromas of rose petal, citrus blossom and cardamom follow flavors of white peach, Asian pear and juicy pineapple. This wine is broad, full-bodied and palate coating, building to an intense finish that is both bold and refreshing.

2017 Foris Riesling
Rogue Valley, Oregon
Brilliant green-tinged yellow, the 2017 Riesling has aromas of pear, white peach, sweet orange and Meyer lemon. It is juicy with mouth-watering acidity, tangerine and nectarine on the palate. It has good persistence with a sweet citrus and honey finish.

All of the wines above are phenomenal values at only $14.99 a bottle, especially because European wines from these varietals and this quality would cost 2-4 times the price! Kudos to the Gerber family of Foris Vineyards and to the winemaker Stephanie Pao in particular for bringing us world-class wines at everyday prices.

2012 Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant Wines

What is this wine named flying cigare in French? It is one of the great Rhone
varietal wines from California, made by Randall Grahm’s Bonny Doon Vineyards. They have been
crafting Le Cigare Volant for over thirty years with accolaides to spare. We are excited to bring you:

2012 Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Volant
Central Coast California
A beautiful wine! Dark, mulberry color, and an impression of cool, loamy earth
with suggestions of raspberries, Damson plums and cherries dipped in chocolate.
This is a wine from an extremely cool and elegant vintage, and by all experience,
should be a great prospect for drinking now after being decanted about an hour
or will age effortlessly for up to 15 years in a correct cellar environment.
39% Mourvedre, 33% Grenache, 26% Syrah and 2% Cinsault.
Only $39.99

2012 Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Volant Reserve ‘en bonbonne’
Central Coast California
This bottling of Le Cigare Volant is identical to the entry level in varietal blend. The difference here, owing to its unorthodox elevage, is in it’s presentation. After a short tenure in barrel, assemblage and completion of malolactic fermentation, the wine was removed to 5-gallon glass carboys (bonbonnes) where it reposed sur lie for 23 months. All of the hard work pays off in spades here, as this is a graceful wine that could go toe to toe with the great wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Damson plum, Morello cherries, and toasted almond show on the nose. The mouthfeel is plush and savory with the dark stone fruit, savory herb and floral flavors around a vivid core of bright acidity. With an hour of decanting or a few years in your cellar, this would be a great wine to be paired with any of a number of usual suspects (game bird, lamb, venison, roast capon or chicken). It is absolutely stunning! Drink now-2035. Only $89.99

Cheers to Le Cigare Volant!
